JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CORRECTIONAL OFFICER (INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS, WORLDWIDE)
The Correctional Management & Communications Group, LLC (CMCGroup) is a privately owned company providing a one-stop network for private and public security and criminal justice needs for both juvenile and adult offenders as well as ancillary security and consulting services. We are seeking individuals with backgrounds in law enforcement, policing, and corrections, who are ready to join an international team to assist with the supervision, care, and treatment of inmates confined in prisons located in post conflict areas worldwide. Deployment is set for early 2010 to various international locations, worldwide.
JOB TITLE: Correctional Officer
COMPENSATION: A very substantial and competitive pay and benefits package will be offered consistent with international standards related to law enforcement contractors, as well as full accomodations while deployed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide supervision, care and correctional treatment of inmates confined in prisons located in various post conflict locations. Enforce rules and regulations governing facility security, inmate accountability and inmate conduct to ensure judicial sanctions are carried out and inmates remain in custody.
May be authorized to carry firearms and to use physical force, including deadly force, to maintain control of inmates. Subject to being in such hostile or life-threatening situations as riots, assaults and escape attempts. Required to exercise sound judgment in making instantaneous decisions affecting life, well-being, civil liberties and property which cannot be reviewed prior to implementation.
Corrections officers comply with daily post orders, which may include assignment to key control, perimeter, segregation, kitchen, recreation, central control, visitation, housing, transportation, work detail, intake, education, laundry or elsewhere. They also help maintain safety and security for inmates, fellow staff, and the surrounding area.
Must successfully complete specialized training in firearms proficiency, self defense, management of medical emergencies, safety management and interpersonal communication skills.
Must adhere to high standards of personal conduct both on and off the job.

US citizen
Must have a valid US Driver’s license and US tourist passport
Ability to meet physical requirements of position
Must not have any felony or domestic violence conviction; record of recent recurring misdemeanors may adversely impact suitability for position
Employment is contingent upon drug screening and a favorable background check to include not having any serious financial problems in the past seven years
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
A preliminary background investigation will be conducted prior to employment which includes a credit check, employment check, and a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check.
Applicants may be required to appear before a panel of specialists for an interview to determine the extent to which the applicant possesses the qualities necessary to adequately perform the duties of a Correctional Officer.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a urinalysis to detect illegal drug use, physical examination, and background investigation.
Successful completion of a specialized training course, to include instruction in firearms and correctional techniques, is required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Must have a minimum of three years specialized experience as a correctional officer or a minimum of five years as a corrections professional. Related military experience in law enforcement or security services does qualify a candidate for consideration. This experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
OR
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and the equivalent of at least one year of full-time specialized experience performing duties such as ensuring that individuals confined in a correctional or mental health facility adhere to rules and regulations; responding to domestic disturbances; or apprehending and arresting individuals violating the law.
Qualifying part-time experience that is less than 35 hours per week must be prorated on the basis of a 40-hour, full-time work week. Credit will be given for experience gained in community, cultural, social service, and professional association on the same basis as paid work experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities.
International experience is a plus; language ability in French, Arabic, Spanish, Dari, or Pashto is also preferred.
MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
The duties of these positions involve unusual and intense mental pressure, and require arduous physical exertion involving prolonged walking and standing, and restraining of prisoners in emergencies. Must be prepared to live and work in an austere environment. On occasion, must be willing to work seven days a week for extended hours when warranted.
Applicants must be physically capable of performing efficiently the duties of the position, and be free from such defects or disease as may constitute employment hazards to themselves or others. The duties of a Correctional Officer, particularly in post-conflict areas, are arduous and sound health as well as physical fitness is required.
Must be mature, flexible, and able to command the respect and confidence of inmates or detainees and staff, and possess a high tolerance to mental stress.
