The University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers
are looking for applicants for a Professional Security Officer

The Department of Security Services seeks applicants for a full time Security Officer to patrol UM Hospitals and Health Centers, providing response to emergency requests and coordinating appropriate police, fire and medical assistance, preparing incident and security reports, monitoring building alarms and security systems, assisting employees and patients with loss prevention.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field is desirable. Experience in a medical care facility is helpful. Excellent interpersonal skills while interacting with people in stressful circumstances are essential.  Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.  Knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers is necessary. Applicants must be credible witnesses in court.  Applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, physical examination, drug screen and psychological evaluation.
